Start with Changing Lines — that's book one. The numbered Harrisburg Railers books run: Changing Lines, First Season, Deep Edge, Poke Check, Last Defense, Goal Line, Neutral Zone, Hat Trick, Save the Date, Baby Makes Three, Rivals, Perfect Gifts, and Family First. There are also four box sets and a few standalone novellas that slot in alongside the numbered books.

The Railers are also part of RJ's wider connected hockey romance world — every series can be read on its own, but if you want the full cross-series timeline, see the complete hockey reading order, or browse all Harrisburg Railers books directly.

RJ's books are open-door — love scenes are explicit and on the page. They're written to be steamy, but always in service of the emotional connection between the leads, not detail for its own sake. Heat level varies a little from book to book, so if you're ever unsure about content for a specific title, feel free to email RJ before you buy.

MM romance (also written M/M) is a romance genre where the central relationship is between two men, and — like all romance — it has to deliver a satisfying happy-ever-after. "Gay fiction" is a broader umbrella that can include any genre or literary work with gay characters, with no requirement for a central romance or a happy ending. RJ writes MM romance specifically: every book centers a love story between men and ends with an HEA. Browse the full catalog to see it in action.

Not directly — each hockey series follows its own team and town, so Harrisburg Railers, Arizona Raptors, Chesterford Coyotes, LA Storm, Owatonna U Hockey, Boston Rebels, and Rochester Copperheads can all be read independently of one another. Within a single series, reading the numbered books in order is recommended. See the hockey romance hub for every series, or the hockey reading order guide for book-by-book sequencing.

Signed paperbacks are sold through RJ's Store. Availability varies by title, so check the listing for the book you want on the books page — if a signed edition exists, it'll be linked from there.

Harrisburg Railers is the longest-running series, with thirteen numbered books, plus several novellas and four box sets and counting. Browse all Harrisburg Railers titles or see the full reading order.

Both. Alongside the long-running series, RJ has a large catalog of standalone titles that don't require any prior reading. Browse all standalone books to find one that catches your eye.

They're both hockey romance, but very different in size. Harrisburg Railers is RJ's flagship hockey series — thirteen numbered books plus novellas and box sets. Carlisle is a short, free three-book novella trilogy (Pucks and Percentages, Breakaway, Making the Save). Browse the Carlisle novellas or the full Railers catalog.

Each book follows a different couple, so they work as standalones, but the numbered order — Single, Today, Promise, Always, Listen, Pride, Miracle — is recommended since recurring characters and family connections build across the series. Browse the full Single Dads collection.

Series like Sanctuary, Redcars, Lake Prophet Mysteries, Lancaster Falls, and Montana lean into romantic suspense — danger, mystery, and high stakes alongside the romance. Browse all romantic suspense titles, or see sports romance for the hockey side of the catalog.

There's no single formal trigger-warning list across the catalog, but every book is tagged by theme — things like Past Trauma, Grief & Loss, and Hurt/Comfort — so you can check what a title touches on before you read. Browse books by theme and trope, or email RJ if you need specifics on a particular title.

The Legacy box set collects the Legacy Ranch trilogy — Kyle, Gabriel, and Daniel — a spin-off of the Texas series following the men who come to Legacy Ranch to rebuild their lives. Browse the Legacy series for details on each book.

Some titles are enrolled in Kindle Unlimited at any given time, though this changes as books move between KU and wide release. Check the individual listing for the book you're after on the books page to see its current availability.

Redcars, Guardian Hall, Sanctuary, and the Legacy series all center found-family themes — men who build a chosen family out of shared scars and second chances. Browse all found family titles.

Yes — quite a few. The Wishing Tree series is built entirely around Christmas in a small Vermont town, plus there's a dedicated Standalone Christmas collection and Christmas novellas tucked into several other series. Browse all Christmas-themed books.
